Schlossmuseum

Schlossmuseum

About 21,000 exhibits of folk culture, crafts and city history from eight centuries are awaiting you.

Out of the colourful variety of artefacts, we would like to highlight the following: the unique collection of verre églomisé pictures from Sandl, the “story telling” marksmen-targets, the guild system, St. Peter ceramics, many antique handicraft equipment, the tower room in the keep and many more. On nine floors, the museum shows topics such as faith and superstition, scales and measurements, customs and popular devotion, jurisdiction and so on.

The ninth floor is not only the former tower room, it also leads to an external gallery at a height of about 35 metres, you will be rewarded for the effort of climbing so high by unforgettable views over the city and the surrounding Mühlviertel downs.

Perhaps there is a special exhibition, which also should not be missed just like the climb up to the keep.
